Interested in adopting a rescued bully? Congrats! It's a big step in the right direction. Thousands of bully breed dogs are euthanized every day in this country due to the lack of good homes. Any potential adoptive homes must pass a vigorous application process. This includes an adoption application, a home visit, personal, employer, and vet reference checks as well as a face to face interview. Most of our rescues come from bad situations, and we want to take every precaution to make sure that doesn't happen again. NO dogs will be adopted out until they are spayed or neutered. NO EXCEPTIONS.

All adopters must be 21 years of age or older. Must own your home or have your landlords approval. Must show breed knowledge, whether you have owned a bully or not.  Must pay a non-refundable Adoption Fee, to help the rescue with some of the costs of getting your new family member ready for adoption. We discourage our rescue dogs to be adopted to a home with a dog of the same size and sex, and to homes with an intact dog. Exceptions are made for people who are actively showing their dog(s), and those who have medical conditions with prevent a safe spay/neuter. Proof will be requested.

Please note, we do not rush our adoptions. They will not happen in one day. We want to make sure our rescues are best matched with any potential adopters, as well as have ample time to do the screenings. 

Steps:

1.) Fill out the application on this page. It is a Word document. Email the completed application to us for approval. We will call your references, your employer(s) and veterinarian. This allows us to get a feel for the type of person you are. Don't currently have a veterinarian? Find one. Tell them you're looking to adopt a dog. Put their information on the application. 

2.) Once we have an approved application on file, we will contact you to set up a meet & greet with our rescue dogs. 

3.) If we feel there's a good match between you and one of our rescue dogs we will then set up a time for a home visit. This allows us to view the home where your new family member will live. We check all rooms, front & backyards, sleeping area, etc. Any problems we find must be remedied before the adoption can be finalized.

4.) If the home visit goes well, and no serious problems found you will be able to take your new family member home soon after. A binding, legal contract must be signed as well as a no dock/crop agreement. The dog must be seen by your veterinarian within 30 days post-adoption for a wellness check and so you can continue getting monthly preventatives for the adopted dog.
